Thanks, could you actually either write a small explanation of what happened as you played and what you were thinking, doing, and were confused about as you played? If you could post this on the YouTube community post comment OR email me at support@derndeff.com, I would greatly appreciate it. : ) So far I haven't had anyone play while I was watching, so a written summary is the best I'll get until then.
I'm good! A fun demo and a video will be out soon, just keep an eye out on the YouTube channel. Making full-sized games is slow and hard, I'll leave it at that haha
Hi Derndeff! I recently discovered your channel through PNG Mall. I have it wishlisted on Steam and am really excited for it! Could we expect to hear some news on it soon? :)
Hey there! I have enough polished and put together right now for a demo, but there's a few more things I'm currently adding to make the demo a fully, more cohesive experience. I'm also going to make a new trailer and do a little rebranding for the game to make it more marketable, and then I'll make a video and release the demo (all of this is a lot of work for marketing!). At the very latest, there will be a demo out for Steam's October next fest (with a YouTube video), but I would expect to hear sooner. I will likely put together a discord and announce that probably on a YouTube community post so that people can help play test.
I could have released stuff earlier, but I've never made a full game before and I'm worried Steam users have a bit of a higher quality expectation, haha. I'm also banking a fair bit of marketing strategy on YouTube gaming videos, so I want the demo to be a great reflection and a good tease of what the game has to offer. I'm playing it safe on the quality and polish end, and it means I'm a bit slower than I'd like lol.
Yo, thanks for the response! I'm glad the game is still being worked on! I was actually wondering earlier if you had a Discord for the game. Will definitely be joining! Really excited for the full release! :D
Yeah absolutely. I'm still making the script on the video so I'd be glad to ask you questions if needed. I didn't really expect you to reply, so it's appreciated.
my email is support@derndeff.com if you need anything, the only thing I don't keep up on as diligently are YouTube comments. I'll have a demo for a new game soon(ish) if you want more material to analyze and critique!
a video is going out Friday morning but for a playable horror game, I don't have a definite answer unfortunately. for early-release game testing stuff, I should probably have both regular and lightweight versions, right?
I think having both versions seems to be a good idea, because if someone would play the regular version and have a bad performance on it then they would have an option to switch to the lightweight version, however wouldn't it also be a good idea to make a single universal version that has best of both ? (if it's possible)
Why? Well i don't have any game dev experience so my opinion is based solely on my thoughts but i still want to share my opinion because it may be helpful
so, imo making a single universal version of the game is a good idea, because i think it may be better and more time efficient for the long run than - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(i'm assuming that you'd make the regular version first and then make the lightweight version)
- > making the regular version first and then the lightweight version of it
because for example updating a single universal version would be probably faster and perhaps easier
than in the case of updating the regular and lightweight versions because if my assumption is correct you'd first have to update the regular version then make a lightweight version of it.
I'll be looking forward to watching your new video
Would you consider ever adding multiplayer? Me and my friends really like the game but we can't play it together. I feel like multiplayer would be a really cool thing to include!
I found a bug. You can jump through the wall at the start because not only they lack spikes, they also lack invisible walls. Going back to the main menu fixed the bug. Also here's me talking to Munci outside the gates.

Thoughts on having a video "Essay" on your game?
Are you wanting to make one? If so, feel free, and I'm happy to answer any questions : )

This game deserves to be on steam tbh 👍💯
